Folks:

I'm not going to forward every Record Book entry, but I will forward this one by Dave Perkins. It's good.

Entry #: 2892

Date: 2006-01-06 07:47:02

Name:     Dave Perkins, USN Retired
Email:     Protected <javascript:mailto('daveylee.net','milret');>

Comments:     Yesterday I was at the grocery and saw a Uniformed service member. I Greeted him and we had a short conversation. During the conversation I discovered that he DID NOT KNOW what he DID NOT have to look forward to when he retired... which will be soon.

OBVIOUSLY the military services are NOT advertising the fact that there is NO MORE FREE LIFETIME MEDICAL CARE after serving 20 or more years...

People on Active Duty TODAY still think that will happen... and this IS WRONG!

Floyd is so On Target... We MUST TALK and do it now! Every time you see someone in uniform, engage them in conversation. Find out their intentions and make sure you let them know about the "Broken Promise" because it may effect them as well...

And if you know any recruiters... ask them what is being told today! Ask pointed and detailed questions. The recruiter who lives up the street from me was SHOCKED when I told him of our plight... Even HE did not know.

I guess my question is: Who the heck is in charge? Is Anybody in charge? Maybe there is NOBODY in charge? Is that the Problem?

That's it for today... Talk it up!
