Suggested Action
Troops, Spouses, Widows, and Friends,
It has been suggested we mount a Fax, phone call, email blitz to the US House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee. This committee is key to dealing with the Medicare fee waiver that HR 602 includes. If this committee will bring the Bill up, hold hearings, we may have a chance.
Those marked with Asterisk (*) on the list below are cosponsors of HR 602 so they should be receptive to our requests for action. You will note of the 40 members of the Ways and Means committee, there are only 14 co-sponsors of HR 602 (4 Rep, 10 Dem)
Recommend we call, fax, or email five members per weekday starting on Monday 27 March 2006 for eight days. This will finish us up on 05 April 2006. Remember you can use toll free 1-866-272-6622 to call
Folks that do not have a FAX machine and want to send messages to the "Ways and Means Committee" should go to http://www.congress.org/congressorg/directory/committees.tt?commid=hways
If you feel this is a worthwhile effort, please support and send to your lists/friends.

Below is a suggested letter to fax, email, or use in some way to call the Ways and Means members;
Dear Ways and Means Committee Member,
HR-602 the "Keep Our Promise To America's Military Retirees Act", is pending in the Ways and Means Committee.
Now is the time for hearing action...this Bill should be high priority for Ways and Means Committee attention.
The co-sponsor list for HR 602 now contains 241 names, more than enough support by a majority of the U.S House, but the Bill has yet to be brought to the floor for a vote. As the time draws near for final adjournment of this 109th Congress, we hope HR-602 will not suffer the same fate as HR-3474, also with majority support, when it failed to get committee action and make it to the floor during the preceding 108th Congress.
For better than a decade now warriors have been appealing for our Government to honor the commitment it made to those who served their country. Now is the time for you and all those who co-sponsored HR-602 to "Fish or Cut Bait". Either you muster the courage to pressure the House and Committee leadership for the necessary action required for a floor vote, or you can remain silent and allow HR-602 to die along with all previous attempts to rectify what is essentially a breach of contract on the part of our Government.
Please take a moment and consider the horrible price our warriors have paid...don't they deserve our nation to honor the commitments made to them?
Respectfully,
(Your name, address, phone number, etc)
