Subject: CUTS IN MEDICARE AFFECT MILITARY RETIREES
The Honorable Mississippi
Congressional Delegation:
For Staff: Please pass to the
Congressmen and Senators.--Thanks.
President Bush has released his
budget for the coming fiscal year and some of the proposals go beyond
this year.
For example, President Bush has
recommended a $ 36 BILLION cut in Medicare over a 5 year period.
These cuts, if implemented,
could and probably will directly affect the healthcare of Military
Retirees over the age of 65, in view of the fact that Tricare For Life
is joined at the hip with Medicare.
Favorably action on these
proposals will also affect the Widows and Spouses that are depending
entirely on SBP (Survivor Benefit Plan)
Further the proposed increased
fees on Tricare Standard will also directly affect those retirees under
age 65.
Gentlemen I urge you to resist
any attempt by the President or DOD to implement the above cuts and
fees.
Please respond to this letter
or call me Toll Free at 1-888-426-9734 and tell me that you will do what
is right and oppose any effort to enact the currently proposed budget.
