To All:
This is about Eric Massa, Retired Navy, 24 years. I would like to remind you
again that he is running for Congress in the 29th District of N.Y. He is
running against a man that IS NOT FOR THE MILITARY. Check out Eric's
website. Click on URL at bottom of this email.
Fox News, a few minutes ago had Eric and about 50 other retirees and
veterans that are running for congress this time. All have served in
Vietnam, 1st Gulf War or in Iraq /Afghanistan.
They were talking a few minutes ago on Fox network, It is time to take
America back. "nuff said??"
If you can help Eric, please do.I just talked to him a few minutes ago and
he said they don't have a RICH LOBBYIST or Jack Abramoff
TO FUND THEIR CAMPAIGNS. Please read this and pass around the net one more time. We can make a difference.
Thanks
Jim Whittington

Jim,
I wanted thank you for alerting me to this email …. The last few days have
seen a lot of travel and the like and I had not been into my home email so
your ‘ALERT” was very welcome. Your kind words of support are greatly
appreciated and I look forward to keeping you in the loop as we move
forward.
Again, thank you for your support and encouragement and I wouldn’t change a
thing in the outgoing note – a Pulitzer prize winner could not have said it
better.
Eric

Subject: ERIC MASSA FOR CONGRESS FROM N.Y.
To All:
Eric Massa is running for the U.S. Congress in the 29th District of N.Y. It
is very rare that I would endorse anyone for Congress but in this case it
worthwhile. I NO LONGER am Democrat or Republican. I vote for the man.
I have known Eric for several years via telephone and emails and we need
more people like him to make themselves available for public office. Eric,
Retired Navy, 24 years.
Eric was on the Staff of Gen. Clark when he was NATO Commander, then I got
to know him when he worked for Congressman Gene Taylor. We speak quite
often on the phone and discuss mutual problems that are of benefit to the
retired military community and veterans community.
His opponent and current holder of the seat in the 29th District is Randy
Kuhl, A man who has never wore the uniform and had a 9 year draft deferment
during Vietnam. Kuhl has voted against all bills to do with Retirees and
Veterans. You can Google Randy Kuhl on the internet.
I ask you to support ERIC MASSA for Congress in the 29th District of N.Y.
Am I playing politics?? Yes I am BUT consider this, we all are playing
politics each and every time we call, write or email anyone in Congress.
Thanks and Please pass this around the net and give MAX DISTRIBUTION

Dear Jim,
Ours has been a relationship of mutual respect that started back when I was
in New Hampshire and my then boss and Presidential Candidate, General Wes
Clark, fully embraced the Keep our Promise legislation as part of his
campaign platform.
It was a special opportunity for me to work hard to include that in our Veterans Bill of Rights and although we did not secure the nomination - I believe that our focus on this issue gave it additional traction during the Presidential campaign and still now as the Bill sits in Committee in Congress.
Thank you for all the work you and others
have done on behalf of our veteran community - it is truly remarkable. I
have been watching the advancements take place with the Keep our Promise to
Military Retirees Act through your emails and I am not ready to give up. As
you know my father is a WWII era Veteran who served more than 30 years and I
myself am a medically retired DAV with 24 years on active duty.
As you know I am a candidate to the United States Congress and although I am
a moderate Democrat, finding myself in the center on most issues my
candidacy cuts across Party lines. I hope to take the lead on issues like
this once elected to Congress. It is vital for our veteran's community to
have a larger voice in Congress, to ensure that the promises made by our
government are honored.
The past eight months have been an absolute roller coaster of emotions. The
experience of running for Congress has given me the opportunity to meet
great Americans like Max Cleland and it has taken me to every part of the
29th Congressional District. It truly has been an adventure and one that
promises to only become more so.
I have been able to pick up seven of the eight county endorsements in the
29th Congressional District of New York - this has given me credibility
within a now unified party, and I have worked very hard at helping our local
candidates in the 2005 elections.
Our recent election successes in a District that has a larger number of registered Republicans than Democrats proved that the voters of the 29th, and I believe - the voters nationally - are less concerned about Party affiliation and more concerned about solving the problems we face by judging the individual candidate and their ability to get things done.
I am proud to have as my close friend and
mentor, Congressman Gene Taylor, and I take from him a great deal of
guidance and value his experience. He taught me the value of being my own
man and not a Party partisan.
Now we are focusing, as we have been from the beginning, with the
overwhelming task of raising the necessary money to help get my message out
to the people inside the 29th district, and across the country. It is a
task that can be accomplished as I reach out across this country and
highlight my support for my own community, the Veterans community and to
also point out the damage that my opponent has done to the many who have
served.
My opponent continues to turn his back on the Veteran's community, along
with the working families inside of my district. Vote after vote on the
House floor, he supports legislation that continues down this road of
economic erosion that we have seen for the past 9 months.
Larger federal deficits, the continual exportation of jobs overseas, and the blind unquestioning support of a stalled and perhaps failed strategy in Iraq. My opponent openly called the Gene Taylor Tricare amendment - that would have provided health care for returning Iraqi and Afghani veterans - both hypocritical and partisan.
Since when true support for our Active
Duty troops hypocritical - only in this Congress and with these leaders whoa
re far more concerned about giving themselves yet another pay raise than
actually doing something for our fighting personnel. Congressman Taylor
vigorously defended his legislation in our local newspaper and we have not
heard again from my opponent.
I have watched while vital legislation like the Keep our Promise Act
languished in Committee needing only the backbone of a vote to move it to
the floor of the House. That so many would "co-sponsor" the legislation
(including my opponent) in an attempt to curry favor with Veterans, and then
refuse to allow it out of Committee only shows me the accelerated need for
Veterans Representation in Congress.
Now more than ever, I am convinced our country needs this new leadership.
Our veterans and active duty military deserve nothing less. I am running
for Congress to be a voice of reason for our Veteran community, our working
families, and the American people.
I would like for nothing more, than to have the opportunity to sign on as a
cosponsor to HR 602 and fight visibly for a successful vote on the floor of
the House of Representatives in 2006 if it has not already been passed.
I hope you will have a minute to take a look at my website
www.massaforcongress.com and perhaps consider joining our team as a
financial contributor. Of course I know that so many are still rebuilding
from hurricane damage, the strain of a lost job and personal challenges like
an illness in the family so we are grateful for any contributions - no
matter how small the individual gesture may be.
I hope all is well, please drop me a note whenever you get a chance.
Eric
