Please print this for future reference. Thank you for downloading the "USNI F/A-18 Hornet Datafile" from www.usni.org. Please read the following document for help installing and uninstalling, as well as for answers to any other questions you may have about your new program. Please feel free to e-mail questions and comments to freestuff@usni.org. Sincerely, The USNI Web Team ///// Recommended Minimum System Requirements ///// Pentium(r) 166MHz or better processor 32Mb RAM* Windows(TM) 95, 98, 2000, and NT ///// Warranty ///// As a freely distributed file, the U.S. Naval Institute makes no warranty, expressed or implied, as to the performance of this program or its effect on local systems or their performance. ///// Installing ///// To install your datafile once you've downloaded it, simply find the compressed executable file named "F18_datapack.zip" and double-click it. Once the file is loaded within your "unzipping" program, double-click the file named "USNI_F18_Datafile.exe." This will open the program full-screen on your computer. You may exit at any time by using your "escape" key, and then closing the application with the "close box" in the upper-right hand corner. ///// Un-Installing ///// To completely remove the "USNI_F18_Datafile.exe" from your computer, simply delete the copy of the application you have opened and the zip file you originally downloaded. The program will be entirely deleted the next time you empty your "Recycle Bin." This application is completely self-contained, meaning that it doesn't add anything to any part of the rest of your system. ///// Some notes about FLASH ///// This program was created with Macromedia(TM)FLASH(TM) which has included additional features for experienced users. These features may, however, prove confusing for an unsuspecting user. RIGHT-CLICKING in the area of the program will cause a drop-down box to appear. This box has additional controls to "Zoom In", "Pause", "Show All", etc. These controls are part of the software used to make this file, not the file itself, so we will not attempt to explain all of their functions. A few of the problems you may have and solutions you may need are: * Pausing Action - If you notice that your program is "stuck in a loop", that is, it seems to be repeating and not moving forward then you have most likely right-clicked your mouse and deselected "Play." The easiest way to restart all the action properly is to close the program and then re-open it. *Zoom in - If you find that you are in a very extreme close-up and don't know how to get back to normal view, right-click so that the drop-down menu appears. Then select "Show All." This should restore you to the original view. Copyright 2000 U.S. Naval Institute Annapolis, MD USA
