Subject: NSL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
Capitol Chapter Members:
At the recent Annual Symposium, the Naval Submarine League (NSL) leadership
voiced a strong desire to grow the membership. I believe that one of the most
effective forms of recruitment is when individual members reach out to their
friends and associates. Remember that membership is open to any submarine
advocate not just former or retired submariners. I am asking that each of our
1042 members of the Capitol Chapter simply try to encourage one person to join
the NSL. You can direct anyone interested to www.navalsubleague.com for a
membership application or on-line registration.
I have included some general information below that will assist you in
describing the League and the benefits of membership:
The Naval Submarine League (NSL) is a professional organization for submariners
and submarine advocates.
Benefits of NSL membership include association with a dedicated group of submarine professionals, frequent E-mail updates on submarine related news, a quarterly Chapter Newsletter, a professional journal - THE SUBMARINE REVIEW, access to the web-based directory of members, information on submarine developments and issues to assist members in creating public awareness of submarine capabilities and value to U.S. defense, a forum for exchange of thoughts on submarine matters, and an invitation to the Annual Symposium and Annual Meeting.
The primary mission of the Naval Submarine League is to
PROMOTE AWARENESS of the importance of submarines to U.S. national security, yet
remain an INDEPENDENT AUTHORITY on submarine matters so that its CREDIBILITY is
unquestioned and its message retains its effectiveness. The Naval Submarine
League was founded and incorporated in Virginia as a non-profit organization in
1982. Today League membership stands at about
3500.
