Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Martyr of the 20th Century during WWII ...

The last temptation is hope..."

Compromise and collusion devastatingly characterized the German Christian Church during the Shoah, of which Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a vocal member. Only he and a very few others would not compromise. American-trained at Union Theological Seminary in the days of "the Social Gospel" he was an unlikely initial candidate for martyrdom for the Lord Jesus Christ. Returning to his native Germany, he parted company with the German Christian Church, establishing the evangelical church a small light against a great dark sky.

Hitler was well aware of Bonhoeffer's activities, threatening and placing obstacles in his way where he could. During the war, The German Evangelical Church, which became known as the Confessing Church stood against government paid pensions for pastors, state-affiliation, Nazi-control of Sermons and Church activities and Nazi-controlled seminary training, devising his embattled evangelical seminary.

As Bonhoeffer, with more moderate Germans in the Abwher (the original german central Intelligence agency) and others sought peace by making overtures to the Vatican and other world powers to stop the war, the Gestapo accused Bonhoeffer and several others such as von Stauffenberg of treasons and plotting Hitler's assasination. Bonhoeffer was executed by hanging; but only after willing refusing escape in order to aid other prisoners in dire need. At the end of his life, having given up all for his stand, he wrote, "The last temptation is hope..."

He was executed at Flossenberg Prison, on April 9,1945. A few weeks later, Hitler would commit suicide, and the Third Reich would fall. In addition to his social Gospel leanings and an emphasis on living the true Gospel, Bonhoeffer at least brought up the question regarding whether the murder of a person infinitely vile would ever be right in light of command not to kill.

Giving virtually all that he owned, had and looked forward to [he was engaged to a young woman when arrested], he stood in utter faith, although not always Evangelical orthodoxy. His writings include his questionings of God's ways while maintaining his utter trust: "Who am I? They mock me, these lonely questions of mine. Whoever I am, Thou knowest, O God, I am thine."

Mark of the Beast - Obama bringing forth

We couldn't make this up if we tried. Senators Lindsey Graham and Chuck Schumer have teamed-up with Barack Hussein Obama and are actually attempting to pass a law that would require ALL U.S. citizens to possess a biometric ID.

Of course, unlike the Mark described in the Book of Revelation, this biometric ID won't appear on your right hand or your forehead. Graham and Schumer and Barack Hussein Obama want to imprint it on your Social Security card.

Here's how Schumer and Graham describe the proposal in their own words in an editorial they recently co-authored that was published by the Washington Post:

"We would require all U.S. citizens and legal immigrants who want jobs to obtain a high-tech, fraud -proof Social Security card. Each card's unique biometric identifier would be stored only on the card.... The card would be a high-tech version of the Social Security card that citizens already have."

Schumer and Graham tout biometric Social Security cards as the primary "pillar" of a four-pronged "tough immigration reform" measure they are proposing... they claim that requiring biometric National IDs for ALL AMERICANS would "ensure that illegal workers cannot get jobs."

But one can only wonder why the two greatest champions of amnesty for illegal aliens in the United States Senate have suddenly decided to get "tough" on the issue of illegal immigration and why they are demanding, first and foremost, that ALL Americans possess biometric ID cards in order to obtain gainful employment.

The answer, of course, is that this Schumer-Graham-Obama "immigration reform" proposal is nothing more than a RUSE... a pathetic excuse by statists, already drunk with power, to grab even more control over your life... to tell you what you can do... and when you can do it.

Human Events summed up what is already being expressed by far too many people on the subject:

"In actuality, the plan Senators Charles Schumer (D.-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R.-S.C.) rolled out amounts to a retread of the Bush-McCain amnesty plan of 2006 and 2007. Its main elements include mass amnesty for virtually all illegal aliens, even more legal immigration and meaningless 'enforcement.'”

Meaningless "immigration reform" coupled with a requirement that every man, woman and child possess a biometric ID? ... Something smells rotten... but the stench isn't coming from Denmark... it's coming from the United States Senate and the White House.

And That No Man Might Buy Or Sell, Save He That Had The Mark...."

     No... we're not saying that Graham or Schumer or Obama are the "Beast" of the Book of Revelation but the passage very accurately describes just how far this legislation will go when it comes to ERADICATING your God-given liberties.

     Graham and Schumer, of course, attempt to dispel very legitimate fears that their proposed "biometric Social Security card" would have a chilling effect on your personal liberties or infringe on your privacy. But even their 'assurances' reveal the tyrannical nature their "Scamnesty" proposal.

"We would require all U.S. citizens and legal immigrants who want jobs to obtain a high-tech, fraud-proof Social Security card. Each card's unique biometric identifier would be stored only on the card; no government database would house everyone's information. The cards would not contain any private information, medical information or tracking devices. The card would be a high-tech version of the Social Security card that citizens already have."

     Then, in the very next paragraph of the article, they state: "Prospective employers would be responsible for swiping the cards through a machine to confirm a person's identity and immigration status. Employers who refused to swipe the card or who otherwise knowingly hired unauthorized workers would face stiff fines and, for repeat offenses, prison sentences."

     Now... can someone... anyone... please explain how this whole "swiping" thing is supposed to work if "no government database" will "house everyone's information"?

     It can't be explained. It makes no sense to say that "all U.S. citizens" would be "required" to possess a "biometric Social Security card" with "unique identifiers" that would somehow contain no "private information" or "tracking devices" and all employers would be required to swipe these "biometric Social Security cards" through a machine that will match the information on these "biometric Social Security cards" (which contain no "private information" or "tracking devices") to information maintained on a government database which will not "house everyone's information."

    Got all that...? The sad and scary truth is that Grahan and Schumer's "Scamnesty" proposal would, in fact, REQUIRE and COMPEL "all" citizens to carry a "biometric Social Security card" to verify BOTH "identity" and "immigration status" and employers who refuse to comply with this government mandate would face stiff prison sentences.

     And, if you have no "biometric Social Security card," ... if you refuse to accept it... you don't work (and such a provision could easily be amended down the road to exclude a person from receiving government entitlements as well, such as Social Security checks or Medicare benefits)... In short, that means that, IN FACT, "no man might buy or sell, save he had the mark."

     These "biometric Social Security cards" that Graham and Schumer are proposing may not be the "Mark of the Beast" spoken of in the Book of Revelation but this proposed legislation is certainly beastly; and that's why Graham and Schumer and Obama must be stopped, right here and right now.

Our Final Hour
There are four things that must happen before Christ will return for His church, according to Bible prophecy.
The next thing that has to take place is referenced in Ezekiel 38:11 which deals with the last-day invasion of Israel. In this scripture, Ezekiel describes the invaders attacking unwalled and ungated cities in Israel. If you look up this scripture in a commentary, it will describe these walls and gates as being symbolic of peace, safety and security. However, these commentary writers had no idea that, in 2002, Israel would build walls and gates around their entire country. These walls have to come down in order for Ezekiel 38:11 to be fulfilled. This event will be God's last warning to the church to get ready for the second and third events that will happen simultaneously.

California Attorney-General turns against Prop 8 - supports Gays
SAN FRANCISCO - California's attorney general has changed his position on the state's new same-sex marriage ban and is now joining forces with homosexual activists to overturn the results of Proposition 8.
In a dramatic reversal, Attorney General Jerry Brown filed a legal brief saying the measure that amended the California Constitution to limit marriage to a man and a woman is itself unconstitutional because it deprives a minority group of a fundamental right. Earlier, Brown had said he would defend the ballot measure against legal challenges from gay marriage supporters.
But Brown said he reached a different conclusion "upon further reflection and a deeper probing into all the aspects of our Constitution.
"It became evident that the Article 1 provision guaranteeing basic liberty, which includes the right to marry, took precedence over the initiative," he said in an interview Friday night. "Based on my duty to defend the law and the entire Constitution, I concluded the court should protect the right to marry even in the face of the 52 percent vote."
Brown, who served as governor from 1975 to 1983, is considering seeking the office again in 2010. After California voters passed Proposition 8 on Nov. 4, Brown said he personally voted against it but would fight to uphold it as the state's top lawyer...

The California Supreme Court made one thing perfectly clear this month as a matter of constitutional law: When it's a case of religious liberty vs. sexual liberty, sexual liberty wins.
In the case of Benitez v. North Coast Women's Care Medical Group, the California Supreme Court asked: "Do the rights of religious freedom and free speech, as guaranteed in both the federal and the California constitutions, exempt a medical clinic's physicians from complying with the California Unruh Civil Rights Act's prohibition against discrimination based on a person's sexual orientation?"
And the majority flatly ruled: "Our answer is no."
This is unfortunate, since religious liberty is actually guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. Moreover, the sexual liberty at stake in this case was not the right of an individual to live as one chooses -- to be free from bullying, fear and harassment. It was the right to be protected by the government from the knowledge that one of your fellow citizens disagrees with some of the choices you have made....

Gay Bishop Will Open Inaugural Weekend for Gay supporting Obama
CONCORD, N.H. – The first openly gay Episcopal bishop will offer a prayer at the Lincoln Memorial at an inaugural event for President-elect Barack Obama.
The selection of New Hampshire Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson for Sunday's event follows weeks of criticism from gay-rights groups over Obama's decision to have the Rev. Rick Warren give the invocation at his Jan. 20 inauguration.
Warren backed the ban on same-sex marriage that passed in his home state of California on the November ballot.
Robinson said last month the choice of Warren was like a slap in the face. In an interview with the Concord Monitor, he said he doesn't believe Obama invited him in response to the Warren criticism but said his inclusion won't go unnoticed by the gay and lesbian community. "It's important for any minority to see themselves represented in some way," Robinson told the newspaper for a story in Monday's editions. "Whether it be a racial minority, an ethnic minority, or in our case, a sexual minority. Just seeing someone like you up front matters." Clark Stevens, a spokesman for the inaugural committee, said Robinson was invited because he had offered his advice to Obama during the campaign and because of his church work. When asked whether Robinson was included to calm the Warren complaints, he said Robinson is "an important figure in the religious community. We are excited that he will be involved." Robinson, 61, said both Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will attend the event, and Obama is expected to speak. As for himself, Robinson said he doesn't yet know what he'll say, but he knows he won't use a Bible....

Hallmark embraces homosexual 'marriage'
PORTLAND, Ore. - Most states don't recognize same-sex "marriage" -- but now Hallmark does. The nation's largest greeting card company is rolling out homosexual wedding cards -- featuring two tuxedos, overlapping hearts or intertwined flowers, with best wishes inside. "Two hearts. One promise," one says.
Hallmark added the cards after California joined Massachusetts as the only U.S. states with legal homosexual marriage. A handful of other states have recognized same-sex civil unions. The language inside the cards is neutral, with no mention of wedding or marriage, making them also suitable for a commitment ceremony. Hallmark says the move is a response to consumer demand, not any political pressure. "It's our goal to be as relevant as possible to as many people as we can," Hallmark spokeswoman Sarah Gronberg Kolell said.
Hallmark's largest competitor, American Greetings Corp., has no plans to enter the market, saying its current offerings are general enough to speak to a lot of different relationships.
Hallmark started offering "coming out" cards last year, and the four designs of same-sex marriage cards are being gradually released this summer and will be widely available by next year. No sales figures were available yet.....

Homosexual activists accused of 'domestic terrorism'
ALT LAKE CITY - The Mormon church on Friday blamed opponents of California's homosexual marriage ban for sending hoax mailings containing white powder to temples, while a group that also supported the measure condemned "acts of domestic terrorism against our supporters."
Investigators have not publicly cited any evidence that the mailings were linked to the Mormon church's support of the measure, and a gay rights group in Utah disputed that gay protesters were involved.
The letters were sent to the Salt Lake City headquarters of the church, where powder spilled on a mail clerk's hand, and to a temple in Los Angeles. Both packages tested nontoxic, the FBI said Friday.
The two temples were sites of recent protests against the church's support for a California ballot initiative that superseded a court decision allowing gay marriage. The Mormon church, whose official name is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said it is stepping up security.
"We call upon those who have honest disagreements on this issue to urge restraint upon the extreme actions of a few," church President Thomas S. Monson said in a statement....

The court found that the FCC deviated from its nearly 30-year practice of fining indecent broadcast programming only when it was so "pervasive as to amount to 'shock treatment' for the audience."....

Gog and Magog - A Big Battle Looms

The battle of Gog and Magog has often been overlooked in the study of prophecy. The diligent student of the book of Revelation may recognize the names from chapter 20. Vs 8 “[Satan] will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth- Gog and Magog- to gather them for battle.”
However, Gog and Magog first appear in Ezekiel 38-39. In light of recent events in the world today, this prophecy has received more attention. There are of course no guarantees, but some people, myself included, believe that this could occur at literally any time.

THE MAGOG IDENTITY
Russia's invasion of Georgia has caused a uproar in the international community and further strained Russia's diplomatic relationship with the West. These events could help pave the way for the famed battle prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39. It is during this battle, that God will directly intercede to protect Israel from Magog and its allies:
"And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him…And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horse-men, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords…(Ezekiel 38:1-4)."
So begins this classic passage in which Gog and Magog, with their allies, are drawn into an invasion of Israel only to have the God of Israel use the occasion to show Himself strong by intervening on behalf of His people and destroying the invading forces. To understand this passage, it is essential to first determine who the players are. Despite the many controversies, these participants are surprisingly well identified. Just who are the people represented here by these ancient tribal names?
