Christian Warrior
Suarez International is dedicated to His service, and this section exists to
glorify His name and to provide encouragement to our brothers-in-arms that serve
Him as Christian Warriors. We believe that God gave us courage and called us to
the profession of arms, and that its His will that we be strong and dangerous in
the face of evil and the sons of perdition that walk this earth.
On Death
I was driving back from a class with one of our staff discussing martial things
when he came up with a very unusual question. "How would you teach someone to
not fear death"?
I drove for a few hundred yards open mouthed trying to say the right thing. Most
human beings live in fear of death, and strive hard all their lives to prolong
it. As Christians, as real believers, we should not fear this eventual occurence.
Death is as inevitable for us as the return of the Lord.
As warriors, we cannot fear it. Now I am certainly not looking at this from the
misguided perspective of the suicidal kamikaze of WWII, nor of the third world
guerrilla whose life is so miserable he may as well get it over with. I am
looking at it from the point of view that when we take up the profession of
arms, either directly or indirectly, we will be living with the very real
possibility of death at our side, and we have to accept and be OK with it.
Now the interesting thing is that others around us live in the same situation,
except they don't accept or embrace it like we do.
We should not live in a state where we are looking forward to dying. This is not
a healthy perspective. But we should not live in constant fear of it either.
That is equally unhealthy and counter-productive to a Christian Warrior's walk.
As believers we must live with the hard-felt faith that to be absent from this
body is to be instantly in the presence of the Lord.
We are here for a reason. Every single one of us is here for a reason. We each
have our mission and our marching orders, as well as a promise from our God that
when we have completed our mission, He will bring us home to His side. That is
the faith that allows us to love freely, and that when necessary, allows us to
fight, kill, and die for those whom we love.
The enemy hates this. His weapon is doubt. If he convinces you to doubt, that
will create uncertainty and then fear, and then cringing inaction. Don't fall
for such a ruse.
Two scriptures to lock in the message!
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not
frightened, neither be dismayed; for the LORD your God is with you wherever you
go."
2Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed,
we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the
heavens.
