Re: Knoxx Sidewinder
they are unreliable....and very difficult to set up, and get working properly.
these days, i wouldn't buy one on a bet.
before you start, get a spare magazine tube from Gunparts in case yours wont
work, and you want to restore the gun to working condition![]()

sidewinder kit
I have a Mossy
500 that I have never fired. I was ordering some stuff from Cabella's a couple
of months ago and the Knoxx Sidewinder kit caught my eye so I ordered one. I got
the 10 round mag and an extra 6 round mag. The kit is installed on my Mossy,
cycles fine, but I haven't had time to take it to the range. I heard that Knoxx
quit making the kit and mags and have heard some strange prices bantered
concerning the mags. The prices are mostly inflated because, supposedly there
will be no more made.
My question: Do I have an orphan or a potential collector. I plan on retiring
from the force in a few months so my door kicking days will be behind me
What I bought, on a whim, as a home defense,
SHTF, amazemat the range, shotgun now might be worth more than I paid.
What do you think.
Thanks, Smitty![]()

How much does the sidewinder kit usually go for? I'm interested, but it seems steep.
Honestly I don't know nowadays. Knoxx no longer manufactures the kit due to
their inability to produce it at a target cost and sell it at (their) perceived
market price. I bought the kit for $210 (w/one drum) and each of the additional
drums for $75 each. So, I'm basically selling it for what I bought it for two
years ago. If you count the the fact that I'm not charging shipping... it works
out pretty reasonably I think. But... I really don't know what they're going for
in todays market. I checked gunbroker, gunsamerica and a few other sites. The
only other Knoxx kit I was able to find was a kit with 4 six round mags instead
of 3 10-round drums for the same price.
