Lawmakers Fume After Border Agent Beaten In Prison
Shortly after a segment on the popular show "America's Most Wanted" Saturday featured the story of two Border Patrol agents imprisoned for shooting a Mexican suspected drug dealer, one of the agents was badly assaulted by fellow inmates in his Mississippi prison.
    Ignacio Ramos had been preparing to go to bed at the Federal Correctional Complex in Yazoo City, Miss., when four inmates attacked him, kicked him in the head, the side and the shoulders with steel-toed boots, Ramos' attorney David Botsford told Cybercast News Service.
    The incident has fueled calls from members of Congress for President Bush to pardon Ramos, 38, and fellow agent Jose Alonso Compean, 30. The two were sentenced to 12 and 11 years imprisonment respectively for shooting the suspected drug smuggler.
    Even before the beating occurred, some lawmakers said they feared for the safety of the two men in prison.
     "The president said he would give the situation with the border agents a sober look," Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) told Cybercast News Service Tuesday. "I hope he does so as quickly as possible. Their lives are in danger."

Let’s grant the federal government something. Occasionally, those bureaucrats and elected officials working in government actually decide to do something about some of the more violent illegal alien criminals on American soil – after they are already here and have committed mayhem and oftentimes murder as well.
    Operation Predator evolved out of ICE's mission to find and deport illegal aliens with the more heinous criminal records. The majority of the arrests under Operation Predator - roughly 85% - involved foreign nationals in this country whose child sex crimes made them targets to be removed from the United States. By matching immigration databases with state Megan's law directories, ICE agents have arrested more than 1,800 registered sex offenders.
     Operation Predator began on July 9, 2003, and resulted in 6,085 child predator arrests throughout the country - an average of roughly 250 arrests per month and eight arrests per day. While arrests have been made in every state, the most have occurred in these states: Arizona (207), California (1,578), Florida (255), Illinois (282), Michigan (153), Minnesota (190), New Jersey (423), New York (367), Oregon (148) and Texas (545). However, while Operation Predator is a noble effort, it is making only a small dent in the criminal activity of illegal aliens.
     In fact, the criminal activity in the illegal alien community is now so bad that illegal aliens are being held for ransom and as slaves by other illegal aliens, and smugglersare kidnapping illegal aliens from other smugglers!       While it is a fact that most illegal aliens are law abiding except for having broken immigration laws (which we do not excuse in the slightest), it is also a fact that a significant percentage of illegal aliens have no respect for the rule of law and for our legal customs. Many come with anti-American attitudes and philosophies that are totally alien to our culture, a subject addressed later in this series. The end result is an ever-growing lawlessness among large portions of the illegal alien communities. It only makes sense that illegal alien criminals come to the United States – this is where the money is and our jails are a whole lot nicer than what they have in their home countries.
    As previously noted, this report does not go into the property crimes committed by illegal aliens. However, like the activities of other equal opportunity criminals, many property crimes are drug related, an activity in which many illegal aliens, especially illegal alien gangs, are involved. While violent crimes against one’s person are the most serious, if your identity or car is stolen by an illegal alien, you won’t be very happy about it.
     As a small example of property crimes, in 2003, according to the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles, 57,600 cars were stolen in Phoenix alone. The owner losses are estimated to exceed $864 million. Most of the stolen cars ended up in Mexico and were never recovered. How many of those cars were stolen by illegal alien criminals versus resident criminals is unknown, but you can rest assured that illegal aliens played a role, if not a large one, in it.

Unfortunately, the story isn't making a very big splash and the problem worsens. The case in question is the nationwide arrest and detainment of some 100 illegal aliens who are mexican national members of the Mara Salvaturcha or MS-13, a gang that had its start as El Salvodorian prison inmates.     According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, released by the US Department of Justice last June, gang members committed about 373,000 of the 6.6 million violent victimizations. Victims believed that perpetrators were not gang members in 55% of all nonfatal violent crimes between 1998 and 2003, and victims were unsure of gang affiliation in 37%.

ILLEGAL ALIEN HELD FOR CHILD RAPE & ABDUCTION OF 12 YR. OLD A convicted sex offender is in custody as a person of interest in the case of a missing 12-year-old girl — and Tacoma police said Wednesday that the man being held is not the only lead in the case.
      Investigators are still tracking down information coming from requests for tips from the public about Zina Linnik, according to spokesman Mark Fulghum.
     Linnik was abducted near her home the night of the Fourth of July. She had been watching fireworks when a family member heard her scream and saw a van speed away.

   The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) estimates that in January of 2000 there were 7 million illegal aliens living in the United States, a number that is growing by half a million a year.
   Thus, the illegal-alien population in 2003 stands at at least 8 million. Included in this estimate are approximately 78,000 illegal aliens from countries who are of special concern in the war on terror.
   It is important to note that the 500,000 annual increase is the net growth in the illegal-alien population (new illegal immigration minus deaths, legalizations, and out-migration). In 1999 for example, the INS estimates that 968,000 new illegal aliens settled in the U.S.
   This number was offset by 210,000 illegal aliens who either died or returned home on their own, 63,000 who were removed by the INS, and 183,000 illegal aliens who were given green cards as part of the normal "legal" immigration process.
One of the most important findings of the INS report is the intimate link between legal and illegal immigration. The INS estimates that it gave out 1.5 million green cards to illegal aliens in the 1990s. This was not due to amnesty legislation, but rather reflects how the legal immigration process embraces illegal immigration and encourages it through legal exemptions. According to the INS, only 412,000 illegal aliens were removed during the decade.
